The answer is this: Raid leaders are almost always officers and guild leaders in their guilds, and raid leadership is a key component of leading a raiding guild. Even if you don't lead raids personally, you may be involved in the policymaking for how raids are conducted. You will almost certainly be involved in any drama that results from your guild's raids.
