REVIEW OF ASSESSMENTS
Following are brief descriptions of many assessments commonly utilized in coaching engagements. Included are the Web sites from which the reader can gain further information.
16 Personality Factors (16PF)
The 16PF, developed by Raymond Cattell, includes measurements of the following: warmth, reasoning, emotional stability, dominance, liveliness, rule-consciousness, social boldness, sensitivity, vigilance, abstractedness, privateness, apprehension, openness to change, self-reliance, perfectionism, and tension. It has been studied extensively, and the sixteen factors have been shown to overlap with the five higher-order factors known as the Big Five (see NEO PI-R). (www.pearsonassessments.com)
