Global Workload Manager Example Scenario

This example scenario has two parts. The first part demonstrates the integration of gWLM and virtual partitions on HP-UX. In this example, there are two vPars configured to share CPU resources based on an own-borrow-lend policy. The second part of the scenario demonstrates the use of gWLM in a Linux environment using processor affinity which is standard in the 2.6 version of the Linux kernel. gWLM uses the processor affinity capabilities in the Linux kernel in a way that resembles the functionality of PSETs on HP-UX. At the end of the scenario, the two parts are brought together in an illustration of gWLMs; monitoring capabilities for all workloads being managed from the CMS.
