Jeff and Ted drove separately to Yountville for lunch, as the restaurant was in the same direction that Ted would be headed afterward. Pacific Blues wasn't terribly crowded, which allowed Jeff to find a good spot with empty tables around them.

After they ordered, Jeff dove in.

“How have the interviews gone so far?” he asked.

“Fine. Everyone's been very nice. I've always known that VB was a place full of good people.”

Jeff decided to be as direct as possible. “Do you feel like the culture here would be a good fit for you?”

“Sure,” Ted responded without really thinking. “Like I said, this is a good company.”

Jeff pushed a little. “How would you describe the culture at North Bay? And how do you think this one will be different?”
