Cloud, SDN, and NFV

Abstract

After introducing network management but before tackling security might seem an odd place to put an introduction to cloud concepts, software-defined networks (SDNs), and network functions virtualization (NFV). But the whole issue of giant data centers is how to manage such networks, and this chapter also introduces modern methods of dealing with enormous quantities of data, virtual machines (VMs), and the methods used for orchestration, which makes sense of it all.
