OVERVIEW

Communication of an idea or a specific design is critical to the product development process. Designers communicate with each other, end users, marketers, engineers, and manufacturers using many different visual tools, including sketches, renderings, models, design control drawings, and digital files. A detailed hand drawing or computer-generated control drawing is critical in the communication of design intent for model making, engineering, and manufacturing. Effective control drawings include accurate part or product views, sections, and dimensions.
