Measuring (unmeasurable) innovation

The measurement of innovation is paradoxical. It has been argued that to manage something you must measure it first. Yet – it is also true that if you love innovation it must be set free. The effort needed to find useful metrics can bring useful rigour to thinking and provide evidence for change. Too much measuring can actually slow down new ideas rather than speed up revolution.
