a) Lists of strategic/recorded pesticides for use in cocoa:
All these Active Ingredients (AI):
• are known to be on 91/414/EEC Annex 1 (§Y, or pending – P); compounds for inclusion continue to be reviewed, and special care should be taken with any compound that remains on the “pending” list. An example is herbicide diuron, which has now been de-listed and therefore transferred from a) to b).
• Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) are for EU only and if pending are currently tMRLs (T)
• have shown demonstrable efficacy in at least one W. African cocoa growing country
• do not belong to WHO/EPA toxicity Class I
