4.1 The Arduino Boards

As discussed in Chapter 2, the Arduino is a Controller Board; it consists of a microcontroller and additional components to facilitate operations. Consequently, there are various types of Arduino boards, depending on setup and desired functionality. The most common and widely used Arduino boards are Arduino Uno, Arduino Nano, and Arduino Mega. Other less common boards, such as the Arduino Leonardo, the Wi-Fi-equipped Arduino Yun, and the waterproof LilyPad Arduino, are typically used for highly specialized applications.
