The Internet of Things (IoT) is generally regarded as the next evolution of the internet. With it, IoT has attracted a great deal of enthusiasm and hyperbole in equal measure. There is little more that needs to be said, except perhaps that, as the hype inevitably subsides, the ‘Internet of Treats’ (for entrepreneurs) becomes the ‘Internet of Threats’ to those who use or operate such products and services that fit within the IoT’s broad definition.
