Helmut K. Anheier is professor of Sociology at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany, and also a member of the faculty at UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs. He served as president of the Hertie School from 2009 to 2018. His research centers on nonprofit organizations and philanthropy, social innovation, and organizational studies. He is the founding editor of the journals Global Perspectives, Journal of Civil Society, and Voluntas.
