14. Introduction to Creative Substrates
So far, we’ve talked about placing images on a variety of substrates, but now we’re going to step it up a notch. In this section, I’ve included techniques for working with images in new and creative ways. We’ll learn how to place images on flexible substrates, and even how to place them directly onto glass. This latter idea became the pearloid process, as I call it, and is one of my inventions that I’m particularly proud of. I’ve dug into my own history as a painter and layerist to leverage those basic techniques to create unique, complex works of art.
