Your resilience

Resilience is the ability to speedily recover from adverse events and bounce back to our normal behaviour. There are many examples of people who demonstrate this characteristic on a day-to-day basis – for instance, the person who contracts a life-threatening disease and deals with it with dignity and grace and becomes stronger as a result; the soldier who loses a limb in war and goes on to run a marathon; the manager who is made redundant after 20-plus years’ service with an organisation and goes on to set up their own successful business.
