Developing your credibility as a presenter

There are many firms and organisations in which a core competency for a leader is gravitas. Gravitas is very similar to credibility and, as a leader, it is critical to demonstrate this trait when you present. At the heart of being credible as a leader is having the right knowledge to disseminate to the business audience. Knowledge is at the core of your credibility because demonstrating appropriate knowledge and transferring it in the right way will inevitably form part of your outcome. So you need knowledge of:

• the subject matter (technical information or other);
• your own organisation;
• strategy;
• your department;
• the market;
• the challenges you and the organisation face right now;
