The importance of leadership to organization competitiveness has gathered much attention from researchers of leadership development over the past two decades [1, 2]. Leadership development studies have experienced a similar pattern as leadership studies, which shift from a psychological to sociological view [2, 3]. Traditional psychologically driven researchers focus on a leader’s competencies (e.g., [4, 5]), while contemporary sociologically driven researchers consider leadership as a social process for becoming a leader (e.g., [6]) or for identity development (e.g., [7, 8]).
