Crestcom's leadership development program involves the creation of personal action plans that are followed up with accountability coaching sessions. We do this to ensure that our clients are not simply learning leadership skills but are internalizing them and applying them to create impact for their organization. In this spirit, we wanted to close this book with a Personal Development Plan. Take about 10 minutes to fill out this Personal Development Plan for yourself, and then hold yourself accountable to it. Perhaps make a copy and give it to your boss, team, spouse, or friend and ask him or her to remind you of your plan. If you find that you need more, perhaps more perspective from other leaders in your area; more content to understand the competencies; or more accountability to apply the knowledge, tools, and techniques outlined in this book, reach out to us. We would be happy to connect you with a group of other leaders in your local community who have made their own commitment to their leadership development journey.
Step 1: Self-Assessment
Rate yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 on your skill level for each of the 10 core leadership competencies. A score of 1 means it is an area of opportunity for you to improve in, whereas a 10 means that you are very strong in this core competency.
