Waste for any company can be found everywhere—not just in the factory. White-collar functions are made up of a series of processes as well, all of which can contain waste. It is important to kaizen these areas as well. UGH’s office kaizen team (team four) had an excellent week working on the order entry process. It created a new approach to handling excess orders that were creating problems for their factories.
