John Cross is neither an academic nor an ex-chief executive of a Fortune 500 company. But it is precisely that which he isn't, that makes his contributions in this book so unique and so engaging. His field of vision isn't narrow like many academics, and neither has he been preoccupied with City commentators and the media like a CEO.
