19.1 Deal with difficult people

In every team there is always one person, or occasionally two, that need a little more careful handling than the others. You may even classify some of these people as “difficult”, even though others may not.

And that brings us to the heart of the matter. You may be the problem in this relationship, far more than the person you classify as “difficult”. Examine your own emotions and feelings first. Why have you classified them as difficult? Do they have more knowledge, qualifications, social power, status, physical attractiveness, admirers than you? Are their frustrations taken out on you, as their manager?
