Defining Your Own Formats
Many different formats come with SAS Enterprise Guide, but sooner or later you will have a particular need for which there is no format defined. Fortunately, SAS Enterprise Guide provides a way for you to create your own formats. This type of format is called a user-defined format. For example, the variable Difficulty has coded values of c, e, and m. These single-letter values are too cryptic for a price list; it would be better to spell out the values: challenging, easy, and moderate. To create a user-defined format, select Data Create Format from the menu bar. This opens the Create Format window.
