2.4. Creating SAS Data Libraries with the Assign Library Task
If you do not have administrator privileges, then you cannot use the SAS Enterprise Guide Explorer to define new SAS data libraries. However, there are many other ways you can access your data. You can open data by browsing your computer’s file directories and avoid specifying a SAS data library at all. (SAS Enterprise Guide will automatically define a library for you.) If you’re a programmer, you can submit a LIBNAME statement from a code window. In addition, you can define a SAS data library using the Assign Library task as described in this section.
