Getting Clear Expectations for Your Work

Lin is frustrated and hurt. She has been working on this project for several months and felt like she was doing well. She met her deadlines, and no one has been critical or told her she was missing anything. In fact, she was hoping to get the lead on the follow-up project and had never even considered not at least having her contract extended for that one. Today she’s learned differently— apparently, among other things, her communication with other team members wasn’t what was needed. When this project is over, she’ll be looking for a new project with a different organization.
