The Macintosh has printer toner in its veins, having popularized the first laser printers and started an era of desktop publishing. But printing is still a complicated affair: with many companies creating new models of printers, each with its own special features, printing a simple document becomes a tour of dissimilar dialogs and pop-up menus.
