In the following conversation, Ali is not sure whether to apply for the post of team leader that has recently come up. It represents a promotion and he wants to analyse his own position to see whether it would be a good move (the focus of this SWOT analysis). Ali approaches one of the company’s coaching managers, a friend of his, to get some advice:
| Ali: | I’d like you to help me decide whether to go for the team leader job. I’d like to try, but I’m not sure if I’m ready for it. |
| Coach: | So you’d like to assess your position? |
| Ali: | Yes. I only want to go for it if I have a good chance. |
