TRAINING
INTRODUCTION
An old joke goes like this:
“Why should I train my employees? As soon as I get them trained, they’ll leave.”
“Yes, but what if you don’t and they stay?”
A workforce that is not trained in safety, discrimination, and harassment will lead to physical and emotional harm, litigation, manager/employee and employee/employee oppression, internal miscommunication, and so on.
Organizations that do not engage in any meaningful cross-training expose themselves to reduced productivity and/or work stoppages when mission-critical employees go on vacation, become ill, or separate from the organization, and no one else can perform the mission-critical skills in question.
