Introduction

We define a team as two or more individuals who are working together toward a common goal and/or a meaningful purpose. The four parts that define a team are:

1.   Common goal—Although each team member has a clear individual responsibility, each member shares in the commitment of achieving a common goal.

2.   Team identity—Each member sees themselves as a member of the group as a whole.

3.   Interdependence—The goals could not be accomplished by the efforts of a single team member; each member is dependent on the other members.
