INTRODUCTION

The advancement of digital imaging has led to the development of numerous different technologies and devices for the capture, display and output of image data. While this provides great flexibility and a wide variety of options in terms of the imaging chain and image workflow, it means that certain aspects of image control are much more complex than they are with silver halide imaging.
