Mutual accountability plays a key role in helping mentoring partners make the most of a mentoring relationship. It begins with a candid and open conversation to create shared understanding, shared commitment to action, and working agreements about some of the “softer” issues in a mentoring relationship. In this section, we focus on four specific areas: ground rules, confidentiality, boundary setting, and hot buttons.
