Abstract:
This chapter provides guidelines, advice, and exercises in the usage of Categories for the Description of Works of Art (CDWA) with a focus on the CDWA Lite element set. CDWA is an option for describing images and allows rich description in the metadata record. CDWA was created to provide guidelines for describing works of art, architecture, groups of objects, and visual and textual surrogates.
