Systems Interconnections

From Chapter 1, we know that MIDI is a digital language that’s used to communicate control information between connected devices within music or other production systems. As such, there are numerous ways that this data can be communicated within a connected system; these include:

  • Direct wired connections using dedicated MIDI cables
  • Wired communication over USB and other cabled connections
  • Communication over the Web or other ISP systems
  • Direct wireless communication
