They say behind every great man is a great woman, and vice versa. There is a lot of truth in this. A positive partner can be an inspiration, whereas a negative partner, who does not share your goals and aspirations, can be your worst enemy. Your decision to better your life, increase your income, increase your knowledge, or improve your appearance, may not be shared by your partner—and here we have a problem.

How can you tell if your partner is on your side? There is no simple answer to this question. But let me ask you this. How does your partner react when you suggest something new—a change, a new business idea, further education, and so on?

Does your partner always react in a negative and lethargic way, or sit up, take note, and give you constructive input?

If your partner is genuinely enthusiastic about your plans, your achievements, your goals, and your success, then you have a partner who will help you get to the top.

If your partner isn't enthusiastic about your striving for success, then you have a problem that will only increase as you become more successful and wealthy.

In a relationship, when one partner increases his or her income, changes the circle of friends, or gets into shape, a negatively minded partner may feel inferior or insecure.
