THE MINDFUL MASTER
The mindful coach enters each conversation curious, present, and open to learning. It is extraordinarily helpful to keep in the background three key questions that keep us fresh and attentive: Who is this client? Who am I as coach? How can I serve?
The coach’s curiosity about these questions parallels the client’s openness to new possibilities. The first question requires being open to seeing the client in a fresh way each time. It counters the reassuring tendency to think of our client’s personality and patterns as fixed, requiring instead that we be flexible and responsive.
