According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program, in 2019 there were over 1.2 million violent crimes in the US. These crimes ranged from murder, assault with a deadly weapon, to rape and robbery. We know that there are over 18,000 law enforcement agencies in the US, and not all of them report to UCR because not all of them have agencies large enough to conduct in-depth investigations or have crimes listed in the UCR.
