Seek Resonance
In 1975, I was one of photographer Minor White’s chief assistants. He was in his late sixties and very busy: working actively as a photographer, traveling around the world to teach workshops, and writing a book summarizing his insights from 40 years of teaching ways of seeing through the lens. I was young and strong, and also a writer. I think he liked me because I could help him both with photography and the rigors of professional travel, and as an editor for his writing. During the summer, we made plans to travel to Puerto Rico in December, where Minor was working on a photographic project.
