As a photographer and writer, I work quickly. I like to do my research on a topic for an upcoming project, contemplate the potential story, and live my inquiry over a long period of advance time. Then when it comes time to write or make images, I swoop vigorously into the project and work intensely in a focused manner to the exclusion of other tasks and responsibilities. I can write the first draft of a book, or see the initial shape of a photographic project, in a matter of weeks or months.
