Music of the Spheres

I find this to be an exceedingly beautiful, evocative phrase, even though I do not fully understand what it means. I intuit its meaning to refer to the sound of worlds. As a photographer, I do have the experience of both the silence and sound at the heart of things, a kind of vibration I hear occasionally with my inner ear in looking at scenes and works of art. It brings me more fully into the moment and synchronizes my perceptions with the observed.

Perhaps because I lost an eye and my vision is physically not so keen, I have developed a kind of “sonar” that allows me to navigate through space and perceive the sounds of the world, sounds that I don’t physically hear as much as they resonate in my inner ear. With that ...
