Optimizing Performance

Installing several OSs on a computer so that these OSs all work can be a challenge. Even more challenging is the issue of optimizing these installations so that they perform as well as they can. There are several different types of OS optimization:

  • Internal optimization— You can search out and obtain the fastest drivers for your hardware, set OS-specific options to improve performance, and perform routine maintenance to keep your system from becoming bogged down in whatever forms of detritus build up in its files and directories.
