Converting a Partition from One OS to Another
One of the simplest methods of modifying a partition layout is to convert a partition from use by one OS to use by another. For example, suppose you have a system with five partitions, three used by Windows and two by Linux. If you want to convert space from Windows to Linux, you might be able to do so by converting one of the Windows partitions in its entirety to Linux use. If practical, this approach can simplify your life greatly because it means you need not back up data to an external device or deal with partitioning software.
