Foreign ext2fs Support

Thanks to Linux's open source nature, the Linux ext2fs drivers have migrated onto several other platforms. Despite the ready availability of authoritative read/write ext2fs source code, however, many of these implementations remain read-only because interfacing the Linux driver code to foreign OSs provides an opportunity for the introduction of serious bugs.
