Cross-Platform Backup Needs
When you run a multi-OS computer, it is critically important that you have adequate backup hardware and that you use this hardware on a regular basis. A hard disk crash in a multi-OS environment can take out untold hours of work in configuring your system. Lest you think such an occurrence is unlikely, consider this: While writing this book, Nessus (my multi-OS computer) suffered just such a disk crash. The fact that I had backups turned what might have been a setback costing me a week or more of work into an annoyance that took less than a day to correct. I therefore present some information on how to select and use a tape backup drive to obtain maximal OS functionality.
