Locating Suitable Hardware
The first two steps in performing a hardware upgrade (researching and obtaining drivers) are actions you can perform without making any changes to your computer. You can entertain the possibility of replacing an old video card with one model and then decide to switch your focus to another if you decide your initial choice isn't really suitable. Your emphasis at this point should be on digging up as much information as possible about your hardware for each of the OSs you run. You might also want to investigate the hardware's suitability to run with other OSs, in case you should later decide to add another OS to your computer.
