1 INTRODUCTION

The book traces the development of the post-financial crisis industrial relations systems in selected Asian countries, namely Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, which are regarded as knowledge-based economies. To a large extent, these countries had all been affected by the 1997 Asian financial crisis.
