Generative AI has changed the way we see our tasks, jobs, and organizations. Where we used to see “status quo” now we see opportunities. But other than examples of how to generate code, create a project summary, or create a chatbot that provides Einstein‐like answers with the personality of Snoop Dogg, how should organizations think about generative AI?

On one end, large language models (LLMs) have finally crossed the “democratization barrier.” My eyes were opened the moment I saw my 14‐year‐old niece using ChatGPT as easily as she uses Instagram. Enabling entire organizations to improve and innovate with complete disregard for technical barriers has always been the holy grail of democratization.

More than text, code, or images, what generative AI can give you is the ability to add substance to your ideas. Looking at this from an enterprise lens, AI can rethink existing processes completely. But how?

Generative AI is versatile and expressive. But the output is raw and varies based on the input.

When generative AI burst onto the scene, the existing tools were too narrow in scope to keep up. Specialized, purpose‐built software is out of step with the vibrancy of generative AI.
