Is all news interesting? Chances are, you don’t read your newspaper cover to cover, so the answer is no. On the other hand, you might be deeply affected when you read a news article sent to you by a significant other, colleague, or friend; if it’s being shared, the chance of it containing something exciting is likely higher than the same old news stories. Social news has evolved on the premise that individuals flock to the attention-grabbing stories and headlines. The most appealing new stories should have greater exposure. People like sharing articles that are humorous, bizarre, or informative with their friends, so why not create a website where the most interesting news stories are easy to access?

Social news sites are democratic websites that allow individuals to vote on interesting content that they want the rest of the sites’ user base to see. Exposure on social news sites can bring hundreds to thousands of page views, which may not only create awareness of your product, but may also lead to significant company change. If nothing else, however, these popular social news stories evoke strong emotions, make people aware of who you are, and cause people to talk about you.
