Paul Kendall gained a degree in accountancy and financial management from Loughborough University in 1981, and ­subsequently went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in 1986.

He set up a niche practice advising businesses in the medical and dental sectors, and formed a national association of accountancy and legal businesses advising those sectors. He remained chairman of that association for many years.

He has written specialist books providing taxation and accountancy advice for businesses and professional practices.
