Focus on Widgets in Marketing

Widgets are miniature applications that can take a variety of forms. They can either sit on a Web page (such as igoogle.com’s widgets) or on your hard drive (such as a desktop widget like a Yahoo! widget). Anything you can imagine, there is probably a widget out there for, although some are obviously more useful than others. Some widgets that I check out regularly tell me information; for example, the current weather, when my favorite TV shows are on, and even when my daughter’s school events are. One of my favorites is Sticky Deluxe. This widget helps me organize my to-do list with a widget that is a cross-platform sticky note and memo taker, which is an electronic version of the venerable 3M Post-It
