About the Authors

Harvey Robbins discovered the joy of teaming at age 8 when he was picked up by police in the Tremont section of the Bronx for gang activities—rock throwing and fighting. He was a member of the same gang his mother had belonged to a generation before, and belonging taught him some of the basic precepts of what kinds of groups flourish, and what kinds never will.

This curious turn continued in college, where he was a nationally ranked sharpshooter, and was recruited by intelligence agencies. Fortunately for somebody, he discovered psychology, and his focus took a 180-degree turn toward issues of organizational dysfunction, and how to avoid and repair them.
