ABOUT THE AUTHOR
IRENE YUAN SUN is a leading expert on Africa-China relations. She co-leads McKinsey & Company’s work on Chinese economic engagement in Africa and is the lead author of McKinsey’s research report on this topic. She has helped multiple global organizations engage with Chinese policymakers and its private sector to advance the development of African economies. Her work has been featured in Harvard Business Review, The Economist, CGTN (formerly known as CCTV), Xinhua News, and the Nigerian Guardian.
Irene started her career by serving as a public school teacher in Namibia. She is a graduate of Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, and Harvard College.
