The Six Leadership Senses
In 1991, I boarded a plane to Cleveland, Ohio. It was my first trip on a plane on my own. My mom and dad dropped me off at the airport and escorted me to the gate. As I walked onto the plane, I scanned the aisle, searching for seat 24C. After wandering around the plane, a flight attendant directed me to my seat.
I sat down and put on my seat belt. Little did I know I was about to take a journey to discover the six leadership senses: sight (ophthalmoception), hearing (audioception), taste (gustaoception), smell (olfacoception), touch (tactioception), and kinesthetic leadership (sixth sense—intuition and envisioning).
