8SB-500 Buttons, Modes, Menus, and Operation
The SB 500 is a small, but capable flash generally used for travel photography or when weight is a concern. It doesn’t have as much power as other flashes in the Nikon lineup, but it is a great accessory flash that is designed to augment the capability of your camera’s built-in flash or to serve as a lightweight Commander unit.
The SB-500 is typically used in three ways:
• Dedicated flash mounted directly on your camera
• Commander flash to control other wireless remotes
• Wireless Remote flash
